Greenville Liberty rounds out roster ahead of Sunday’s season opener
Greenville, SC (May 14, 2022) – The Greenville Liberty SC has announced the signings of seven more players as the club prepares to open its inaugural season on the road this Sunday, May 15th at Charlotte. Seven current college players and two college commits will be joining the team pending league and federation approval. North Greenville University, Furman University, Anderson University, and Kennesaw State University are all represented in Greenville’s most recent signings. Additionally, Wade Hampton, T. L. Hanna and Byrnes High School were also represented in the group of new signees.
Forward, Alexah Fite is returning for her sophomore season at North Greenville University in 2022. During first season with the Crusaders, the Texas Native appeared in 11 games for 153 minutes, recording 1 assist. Fite appeared for Greenville during its preseason scrimmage versus the SC United Bantams.
Midfielder, Riley Parsons, is going into her second year at Furman University. Parsons appeared in seven matches last fall after transferring from University of Alabama-Birmingham following her sophomore year. During her time at UAB, she started nine of 23 matches played, recording 901 minutes on the pitch. The Greenville native played club soccer for CESA, where she competed in the ECNL national quarterfinals. She played high school soccer for Wade Hampton High School as a two-time team captain. As a WHHS General, she was named Rookie of the Year as a freshman, named 2017-18 5A All-Upstate Second Team, 2018-19 5A All-Upstate First Team and competed in the North-South Game. Parsons also appeared for Greenville during its preseason scrimmage versus the SC United Bantams.
Greenville native, Cambelle Roberson is a soon-to-be Wade Hampton graduate heading to Furman for her first collegiate season. The WHHS senior is a two-time team captain, was named All-Region as a freshman and junior, was named to the Viking Cup All-Tournament Team as a freshman and won the Crescent Cup. The defender was a member of CESA ECNL where was voted team captain for the 2017-18 season and played in two ECNL Nationals. Roberson was also a member of the 2022 Greenville Triumph U19 Girls Elite team.
Center back, Maggie Miller, is completing her junior year with the Paladins. The Charlotte, NC Native has appeared in 22 matches and starting 15 totaling 1,385 minutes. As a freshman she won a State Title with Weddington High School and was rated a two-star prospect by Top Drawer Soccer. Miller appeared in the backline for Greenville during its preseason scrimmage versus the SC United Bantams.
Forward, Bethany Morgan recently completed her final season as a Trojan. She recorded eight goals and three assists, starting 45 out of 65 matches played for Anderson University and helped lead the team to four out of their six consecutive South Atlantic Conference Tournament appearances. In 2019 she was voted Preseason All-Conference Second Team and 2018 she was named SAC Honorable Mention and Google Cloud Academic All-District. The Anderson, SC native attended T.L. Hanna from 2012-2016. Morgan served the ball that led to Greenville’s goal during its preseason scrimmage versus the SC United Bantams.
Goalkeeper, Allanah Blye is a high school senior and future alumnus of Byrnes High School. The Spartanburg local, was a four-year starter for the Rebels and is committed to Kennesaw State University for their 2022 class. In her junior season she recorded 149 saves, 12 penalty-kick saves and allowed only four goals. Blye was named All-Region in 2021 and Byrnes HS MVP. She was named All-Region in 2019, Varsity Rookie of the Year, and Herald Journal All-Area Soccer Team. In 2018 she helped secure the Jefferson Cup and in 2017 SC State Cup for Byrnes. She also competed for CESA ECNL in club soccer and was invited to the ODP South Region Team Camp 2017, 2018 and 2021. Blye appeared in Greenville’s net during the second half of its preseason scrimmage versus the SC United Bantams.
